We all know that Gen Z are prolific users of social media, being raised in a digital age where checking a status update is as regular as checking the time. Social media platforms have never been bigger, but is their grip loosened by a change in culture and attitude from young people? Do they still provide all their needs in a simple one-stop shop?

The social edition is the third in our seven part series, lifting the lid on students and gen z lifestyles. We look at which platforms are gaining and which are falling behind, what students are using social platforms for, and whether this behaviour changes as they progress through uni life. We aim to help brands better understand this group as consumers, offer guidance on how to harness their spending power, and deliver some food for thought along the way!
