UCAS Progression Reports

...Where do your students apply? ...Where are your students going? ...How are your competitors doing?

The UCAS Progression Report portfolio includes three different reports, the Progression Report, the Offers Report and the Competitors report. Each report contains historical data for your school or college from the past two application cycles. (For example, the most up-to-date 2010/11 report will contain 2011 cycle information and will include summarised 2010 cycle information to be used as a comparison). The 2008/09 and 2009/10 reports can still be ordered if your centre is looking for previous application cycle information.

The Progression Report

The Progression Report provides schools and colleges with access to historical data on the progression of students who have applied through UCAS to HE from schools and colleges.

This report contains data on:

  • summarised student applications made over the last two cycles
  • final destination information; accepting institutions and subjects
  • own student versus national trend comparisons
  • easy-to-view graphical representation of demographic trends
  • detailed application information for the last application cycle

This report saves you time and resources enabling you to:

  • analyse and report on overall UCAS applications, identify trends and patterns and compare applications against the sector
  • facilitate management and statutory reporting
  • promote your school's success compared to the national picture in marketing materials
  • facilitate targeted IAG initiatives.

The UCAS Progression Report costs £125 + VAT. The most up-to-date Progression Report available is for the 2010/11 entry cycle. 2011/12 data will be available in November 2012. The 2008/09 and 2009/10 reports can also be ordered.

The Offers Report

The Offers Report provides your centre with data on your students' applications, decisions, replies, acceptances plus offers. Data is represented in easy-to-view graphs and charts enabling you to:

  • analyse how many offers were made, the student replies to those offers and the final accepted choices
  • see a breakdown of how many of each type of offer was made, e.g. how many conditional/unconditional/unsuccessful offers were made to your students by universities and how many of these were firm choice/insurance choice/declined
  • understand what choices your students are making and how this translates into accepts and the route they were accepted through
  • identify which groups of students would benefit from different types of advice.

The UCAS Offers Report costs £30 + VAT if you subscribe to the 2010/11 Progression Report. If you choose not to subscribe to the Progression Report the cost is £50 + VAT (2009/10 and 2008/09 Offers Reports are available to purchase now and the 2010/11 Offers Report will be available in May, although this can be pre-ordered from now on).

The Competitors Report

The Competitors Report provides your centre with data on your chosen group of competitors applications and acceptances. The report contains summarised data for your competitor group, as well as more detailed demographic and subject data, enabling you to make comparisons. Information on mission groups for your centre, your competitors and the national picture is also included.

You are required to submit a minimum group of five schools or colleges that we will then use as your competitor group. The competitor data is aggregated so that an individual institution's data cannot be identified.
