APPLICATION TRACKER 2012
Application Tracker helps you to analyse data in depth at the time you most need it.
Sensible financial planning, understanding how you compare to competitors and knowing who is attracted to your institution are just a few of the areas where familiarity with your application trends is vital. But getting to grips with the data can be a time-consuming process. This is where Application Tracker can help.
Application Tracker is an online service accessed through the HE staff section of the UCAS website.
Key features and benefits include:
- early access to exclusive key UCAS data at the start of the cycle to enable a more proactive approach to recruitment issues
- no upper limit to the number of people that can access this service within your organisation, enabling improved visibility of the application process and sharing of information across your entire organisation
- market intelligence tools to provide a clearer understanding of your position against national and competitor trends
- custom build tools to aggregate and analyse data to your own specification enabling you to compare performance and trends within your own organisation
- applicant profiling to help you better understand and react to an ever changing market
- detailed entry year and domicile-based data to help inform financial and resource planning strategies.
Subscriptions
Application Tracker has three levels of access providing different levels of reporting. Level 1 can be accessed free of charge by all UCAS member institutions. Levels 2 and 3 give you various levels of further data for resource and financial planning activities. Data is updated weekly, enabling you to:
- track your institution's applications
- analyse trends down to course code level
- determine your position in the market place
- custom build your own faculty datasets
- create geographic and demographic profiles of your applicants.

DECISION TRACKER 2012
Making the most of your performance data
Tracking the conversion of applications into decisions, analysing trends, benchmarking performance against the sector, and creating applicant profiles, are an essential part of performance analysis and planning. However, getting to grips with the data can be a time-consuming process. This is where Decision Tracker can help.
An online service available only from UCAS, Decision Tracker is the ultimate tool for in-depth analysis of application progress and conversion and can help you to analyse data in the depth you need, at the time you need it.
Decision Tracker is active from September, meaning that you will be able to track applicant decisions from the beginning of the cycle, over a period of ten months.
Key features and benefits include:
- Early access to key data to enable a more proactive approach to recruitment and selection.
- Unlimited access to exclusive UCAS data enabling high visibility and sharing of information across your organisation.
- Market intelligence tools to provide a clearer understanding of your position within the sector.
- Custom build tools to enable you to aggregate and analyse decision data to your own specification and compare performance and trends within your own organisation.
- Extensive tracking tools giving you access to applications and decisions down to course code level, plus the ability to track which applicants are applying to you through the 'Extra' process and which are mainstream.
- Profiling tools to enable you to better understand and react to the changing needs of home and international applicants.
- Customisable reporting, including visual aids such as flowcharts, benchmarking tools for yearly comparisons, and competitor reports.
Accessed through the HE staff section of ucas.com, Decision Tracker offers two levels of subscription so you can be sure you are only paying for options relevant to your needs. Data is updated weekly, allowing you to make timely decisions in response to new developments. The table below provides a breakdown subscription levels.

Daily Decision Tracker - New
Level 1 Daily Decision Tracker is automatically included as part of 2012 Application and Decision Tracker subscription*
Daily Decision Tracker enables you to keep track of your institution's applications and acceptances over confirmation and clearing. The reports are emailed to you every day from August 2011 until mid September 2011.
There are two levels of subscription for Daily Decision Tracker and as part of your subscription you will receive level 1 free* (the report would normally cost £350 plus vat). Level 1 contains an HEI summary sheet which compares the latest data with the previous report and a yearly comparison sheet which compares the latest data to last year. The report also contains more detailed 2011 subject and course level data.
Upgrade to level 2 Daily Decision Tracker
You can upgrade from level 1 to level 2 Daily Decision Tracker at any time for an additional cost of £150 plus vat. Level 2 contains the same as level 1. However the courses data has been extended to included domicile data for both 2010 and 2011. There is also an additional flowchart that compares 2010 and 2011 at course and domicile level. (The cost of this report is normally £500 plus vat).
