December 2010
Dear Colleagues,
Welcome to the winter edition of the Media newsletter. In this edition you will find details on advertising opportunities in forthcoming publications. We would also like to wish you all the best over the Christmas holiday season, a happy New Year and hope you return revived and ready for January 15th deadline.
Here at UCAS we produce a number of specialist publications to assist students, teachers, parents and advisers through the higher education application system. We have a number of these editions for 2012 entry with a booking deadline prior to the Christmas break.
These publications are an ideal way to ensure that your institution and relevant websites are at the forefront of students' minds when they carry out their research and start applying for the 2012 cycle.
Parent Guide 2012 - Parents are taking an ever-increasing interest in their children's journey into higher education: we have noticed a significant increase in the number of parents signing up for our email newsletters and ordering copies of our Parent Guide 2011. Last year we printed 250,000 copies and owing to the increased demand we found it necessary to run two reprints; the next edition will have an initial print run of 300,000. The guide contains comprehensive information on applying to higher education and explains what UCAS is and our role in the process. Our booking deadline for advertising within this popular guide has been extended to 10 December. We also offer a parent package which includes advertising on ucas.com, and inserts in our email to parents along with an advert.
We also produce the guide in a Welsh/English bi-lingual version which can be booked separately.
Little Guide 2012 - This small pocket-sized publication contains our UCAS applicant journey along with a host of useful information. It is handed out at our UCAS educational events and ordered by schools and colleges as part of their higher education information dissemination. We currently print 100,000 Little Guides - the booking deadline for the guide is 16 December. The size of the guide means advertising space is limited and therefore sold on a first come first served basis.
