UCAS Media Newsletter

February 2010

Dear colleagues,

Thank you to those of you who attended the student journey events; we hope you found them useful. For those of you who could not make it, there is good news! We have another date on Wednesday 24 March, click here if you would like to book your place.

Finally, just to let you know PAD 2011 is now ready, with nearly 50,000 pre-applicant contacts available. Please contact the Education Team for an updated data count.

yougofurther.co.uk

UCAS brings you yougofurther.co.uk, its very own student networking website. Universities and colleges are invited to have a profile page on the website, which allows them to interact with prospective students in a medium that they are comfortable with. Students can leave messages on your wall and you can build a rapport with the students before they apply. The website also gives students the chance to meet each other before they start university. As you can imagine, student safety is paramount to us and our website is moderated by an external company called e-Moderation. We have also introduced the Child Exploitation and Online Protection (CEOP) report button on our site. This in itself enhances the safety of yougo and allows our members to report directly to those who will deal with any online dangers that they encounter.

To have a profile page on yougofurther.co.uk only costs £500 for 12 months. Please contact Caryn Wright on c.wright@ucas.ac.uk for further information.

Decision Tracker 2010

The Data Insight Team is happy to announce the successful launch of Decision Tracker 2010. This popular subscription service looks at your decisions, those of your top six competitors and the sector wide picture, down to course code level and is benchmarked over three years. For the first time applicant profiling has been added, including schools information, geographical and demographic data. A wealth of new reports has been added this year, including summary of decisions, fee status, Widening Participation and Extra.

Discounts are available to existing Application Tracker subscribers. To find out more, please email Debbie Scott at d.scott@ucas.ac.uk or call 01242 544856.

UCAS print advertising

With marketing budgets being cut across the industry, you need to ensure that your adverts will be seen by students throughout the UK and overseas. The UCAS Big Guide is the only complete guide to all higher education courses in the UK, it contains all 50,000+ courses and is trusted by thousands of advisers, teachers and students and is the number one resource for anyone involved in higher education entry in the UK. We accept advertising from HEIs in this guide and have a number of packages available, which can include subject specific and web advertising. Click here to see a full list of UCAS publications in which you can advertise.

UCAS monthly mailings

These are a cost effective way of delivering your open day posters and course information directly into the hands of our UCAS contacts at all UK schools and colleges (with sixth forms) and careers organisations. Each month UCAS sends a pack of important information to these contacts and we are able to include information from HEIs for as little as 21p per address (less than the cost of a second class stamp). Click here to see our booking form which contains all the costs and dates for the remainder of this academic year.
