April 2010
Dear Colleagues,
We hope you enjoyed a lovely Easter break. Spring is finally here, the days are getting longer and we are certainly looking forward to a scorchingly hot summer here at Rosehill. Albeit with the usual trepidation & excitement regards Confirmation and Clearing! In this April edition of the Media newsletter you will find information on the International Poster, changes to Course Search adverts, Sender Score Certification and opportunities to reach STEM applicants. Any questions please reach us on 01242 544881 or email UCAS Media.
We have been asked by our contacts at overseas schools to supply a large poster (A0 size), which pinpoints all higher education institutions on a map of the UK, along with their HEI number and basic contact information. This map is designed to be on permanent display at International Schools and British Council offices/Agencies. We have one advertising slot available to book on this map. The cost of this slot is £2500. The booking/artwork deadline for this poster is 9th June. This is part of a whole suite of International advertising opportunities available from UCAS Media, please click here to see the other services available.
Has your institution made a conservative number of offers and now finds that with the new budget, you may accept more students for STEM subjects? If so, we can help through a targeted marketing campaign to unplaced applicants who applied for science, technology, engineering or mathematics. There are currently just under 2000 STEM applicants who are not holding any offers and eligible to add another choice or apply through Extra. This number will rise to around 5000 by the middle of May. Many university admission tutors agree there are lower attrition rates from applicants who secure places earlier in the cycle. If you would like to discuss your requirements please email UCAS Media.
We are pleased to be accredited for sender score certification (SSC) for all our email campaign services which means our sender IP addresses are added to the 'Sender Score Certified white list'. This helps give preferential treatment to your emails, raising their chances of being successfully delivered to inboxes. As well as improved deliverability, it also helps the automatic rendering of images and links, (bypassing any image blocking and link suppression), which can have a great impact into the open rates of the email campaign.
The Effect: Since we received our new accreditation for all our email campaign services, we are pleased to report that open rates and click through rates have increased. The average open rate without SSC was 28.33%, however the new average open rate with SSC 39.71%.
Although PAD 11 campaigns are still ongoing, these results are encouraging and we expect to see year-on-year improvement throughout the PAD cycle as well as our other email services such as Extra/ Clearing Unplaced and Stamford. For further information on any of products please contact the education team on 01242 544881 or email UCAS Media.
Over the last two years, the click through rate (CTR) for keyword adverts within Course Search had started a slow decline. To reverse this trend we took the step of changing the advert sizes from 112 x 60 to 190 x 70. We are happy to report that this has achieved the objective with a really positive effect on the CTR. We have seen the performance rise from 0.06% to 0.16%. This CTR is very pleasing as it's greatly above the UK average CTR of 0.08%. Source: http://www.indolent.com.
